April 20, 1995 is the day just arrived! He was ecstatic this year especially because he turned 18 years old! Our family celebrated as we do every year; Disneyland, of course.
We live about an hour away from the happiest place on earth, so Justin makes sure we bring along his favorite CD. We rolled down the windows and cruised on the freeway singing Michael Jackson's hits and enjoying the beautiful April day.

Individuals with Autism usually tend to appreciate structure to their day. Justin like to go on certain rides before others and prefers the California Adventure theme park prior is the Disneyland park.
One of his favorite things to do at California Adventure is visit the Animation Academy. Inside the Animation Academy, a Disney animator teaches various classes throughout the day to draw a multitude of Disney characters.

It's always a joy to watch Justin work diligently on his drawings. Even the way he holds his long, nimble fingers to the pencil is delicate; he takes great care and pride in his work. Even strangers around us admire and praise his artwork!
Justin has a difficult time finding the patience one requires while standing in line for a ride at one of the Disney parks. (I think most of us may have that issue, as well.) however, this is a common difficulty among individuals with forms of Autism. Both parks offer a Guest Services pass for our family to use so there won't be any outbursts. It is a blessing - we are able to ride the majority of the rides before the day is half over!

Justin's favorite thing to do at the Disneyland Resort is go to Mickey Mouse's House in Toontown and hand-deliver a drawing he drew for him.
It was an amazing day. We even topped the night off with a front-seat viewing of World Of Color, an incredible water show full of noted Disney music and brilliant lights. Justin loved it. We even cried together during a heart-breaking part of the show!
There is nothing better than watching Justin grow up. He graduates from high school soon, and then he only pursues his dream further from there!
It is a pleasure to be able to share his amazing birthday with others. He is a truly kind-hearted young man who is excited to really live & not just merely exist.
We can all learn something from that.
