Welcome!
Hi everyone! Jenni, here. My younger brother, Justin, is a 18 year-old high school graduate who was diagnosed at 2 years-old with a mental disorder called Autism. Although we were physically close in age, mentally we were vastly different. Our relationship was built step-by-step, from the time we were toddlers and weren't sure if we liked each other too much, until now. I remember the first time I met my little brother, all swaddled in a blanket, curled in my mother's arms. Even then, we all knew he was special and I was especially jealous of all of the attention he garnered. I begged my parents to take him back to the 'baby store' for weeks. But over the years we quickly became best friends.
When Justin finally began to speak, he was almost 5 years old. Prior to that, our main form of communication was sign language - which was actually pretty cool! But even cooler, Justin discovered an even easier way for him to communicate - pictures! What began as scribbles and odd figures turned into something extraordinary.
Our family is amazed everyday by some of the incredible artwork he produces and the attention he pays to every detail, no matter how miniscule. We love sharing with our friends and we want to share with even more!
This website was imagined by every member of the family. Although I will personally be writing most of the blogs, all of the artwork will be in Justin's hand.
